"The capacity to learn is a gift. The ability to learn is a skill. The willingness to learn is a choice." - Brian Herbert

It will focus on changing the HOW of teaching reading comprehension. You will be empowered with knowledge and skills to enable your learners to read for meaning.
Reciprocal teaching is an evidence-based approach and refers to an instructional, cognitive activity that takes place in the form of a dialogue between teachers and learners. It is a cooperative learning strategy that aims to improve learners' reading comprehension skills, with four components: predicting, questioning, clarifying and summarising.
The explicit teaching and modelling of the four reading comprehension strategies (predicting, questioning, clarifying and summarising) to learners will make this approach different and unique.
This time all 4 strategies: Predicting, Clarifying, Questioning, and Summarising will be explicitly taught and demonstrated to learners.
